Albert Beyer

Albert was born on the 13th of June, 1859 in Hannover, Germany and joined the US Navy. It was his actions as a Coxswain during the Spanish-American War that would earn him the Medal of Honor. The citation reads:

On board the U.S.S. Nashville during the cutting of the cable leading from Cienfuegos, Cuba, May 11, 1898. Facing the heavy fire of the enemy, Beyer set an example of extraordinary bravery and coolness throughout this action.

Albert E Beyer died on the 29th of October, 1929 at the age of 70 and is buried in the Mount Moriah Cemetery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: Naval Asylum Plot.
