Everett was born on the 4th of February, 1839 in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania and served with Company M of the 15th Pennsylvania Cavalry. It was his actions on the 14th of January 1864 that would earn him the Medal of Honor. The citation reads: “Captured, single-handed, Confederate Brig. Gen. Robert B. Vance during a charge upon the enemy”.

Everett received the Medal of Honor on the 3rd of December, 1894 and Everett W Anderson died on his 78th birthday in 1917 and is buried in the Morris Cemetery in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.
